Update 19 July

Hello again everyone.  I'm a bit later with my post this week - had some other things I had to give priority to this morning but better late than never as they say!

This week is going to be a bit of a quieter one for Lev3l 3 Crafters.  As you may already know our home base is The Venue, in Manor Walks, Cramlington.  The Venue is a shop unit that is used as a community hub and from Monday to Friday this week it is being used to house an art exhibition.  Which means that we won't be in there either on Monday or Thursday this week for our usual free weekly skills demo days.  A well earned rest for our quilt lady, who does every Thursday without fail!

Saturday will be our normal weekly market day though.  We will be there between 9.30am and 5.00pm with a selection of handcrafted gifts, cards and gluten free food.

Here's a sneak peak of what you might find on Saturday.

Feedback from last week

On Monday Roger from Far Horizons was our crafter in residence, demonstrating how he makes the picture mounts before framing his beautiful photographs.  He had some brand new photographs with him too - taken during his recent visit to the Farne Islands.

On Thursday Sheila from Sewing MANIA was there all day demonstrating "Delectable Mountains" - this is a type of pattern used in quilting.

On Friday we had our second mums/baby and toddler craft market

On Saturday we had our normal weekly craft market - always an enjoyable event!

In addition to the craft market on Saturday we held a Krafty Kidz session in the central mall at Manor Walks, in conjunction with their "Foodie Festival".  The kids who attended enjoyed it enormously and produced some lovely suncatchers and their very own beaded bracelets and keyrings.

 July dates for your diary

Saturday 25 July - kids crafting upstairs in Lev3l3 as part of the Hands On British Sign Language Training Event
Monday 27 July - free skills demo day - painting and picture mounting and framing

And don't forget that there will also be a quilt exhibition in The Venue during August.

The week ahead for Lev3l3 Community Crafters 12 July

Hello everyone. Time for another weekly update from Lev3l3 Community Crafters so I hope you are sitting comfortably ..........

Monday sees Roger from Far Horizons back in The Venue for our Monday free skills demo day.  Roger is our resident photographer and he will be there between 10am and 4pm demonstrating how he makes the mounts for his beautiful photographs ready to frame them.  So do call in if you are in the area and see how it's done - or even just to say hello and have a look at his wonderful photographs.

Thursday is our regular Thursday free skills demo day and Sheila from Sewing MANIA will be in residence between 10am and 4pm demonstrating patchwork skills.  She has asked me to tell you all that this week she will be showing you  how to put together Delectable Mountains.  Sounds intriguing doesn't it?

Call in to find out exactly what this is - she will also be able to answer any questions you might have about patchwork and quilting and is extremely knowledgeable.

Friday sees another of our Mums-to -be, Mums, babies and pre-school children market days.  We will be there between 9.30am and 4.00pm with a selection of unique handcrafted gifts and cards.  This includes our unique baby gift packages, which are a collaberation between different Lev3l 3 crafters.

We have a beautifully handknit pram blanket which has been teamed with a handmade and fully CE certified matching sock monkey.  To complete the package we have added a colour co-ordinated pram shaped handmade card - available as a new baby or a baby shower card.  You can, of course, buy any of the items individually, but by teaming them up together we have ensured that you will pay a little less than the individual prices.

Also available are our baby buckets.  These are handmade, padded buckets which we have filled with other handmade items eg one of them contains a handknit matinee set and a handmade bib and burp set.

A handmade sock monkey and a matinee set completes another baby bucket.

We have chosen all items with care and  have ensured that they all colour co-ordinate - but should you wish to change one item for another - or just for another colour - then that can be arranged for you too - and you will still save money by buying them as a set.

Other items available in our baby range include moonstone bracelets and necklaces (for the new mum or mum to be), guardian angel keyrings, feeding bracelets, baby soother keyrings, hooded bath towels, wash mitts, new baby/christening framed button pictures, new baby/christening hearts, baby pocketed bags-to-go, new baby/christening/baby shower invitations and cards and much more.  Come along on Friday and see what we have.  But should you wish for a package to be made specifically to your own requirements then I am sure we can arrange that for you too.

Saturday is our normal weekly market day and we are in The Venue between 9.30am and 5.00pm.  Here is a sneak peak at what you might find there this week
