Anyone for crochet?

This is the first proper post to the Lev3l 3 Crafters blog so hope you are all sitting quietly!

The week ahead for Lev3l 3 Community Crafters  (18 to 24 May)

Monday sees Kim from Vimbo Crafts holding the second of her "Crochet for Beginners" workshops.  These workshops are free of charge and aimed to give you a chance to decide whether or not crochet is for you.  She will show you the real basics - down to how to hold your yarn and crochet hook - and will answer any questions you might have.  The sessions are bookable in advance - please contact Kim direct.   Should you decide at the end of the session that you would like to learn more then Kim will be happy to arrange more advanced sessions, which include a project, for which a fee is payable.

Thursday is our skills demonstration day.  This week Sheila from Sewing MANIA will be back between 10am and 4pm demonstrating patchwork and quilting skills.

Sheila is extremely knowledgeable about this wonderful craft and is always happy to help or answer any questions you might have.  You can see some of her beautiful quilts hanging on the walls of The Venue. Sheila is a member of the Quilters Guild.

Alongside Sheila on Thursday will be Catherine from Charlie Cards Cramlington.  Catherine will be demonstrating how she makes her very popular pop-up box cards.

She will show you have to turn one sheet of A4 card into the box and how to assemble it.

She is always very happy to answer any other cardmaking related questions you might have, and loves to chat with other cardmakers and crafters.

Saturday is market day for Lev3l 3 Crafters.

Each Saturday 7 crafters are in residence with a variety of handcrafted items. With around 30 crafters in our group we take turns to have a stall each Saturday.  Cards and gluten free cakes, pies, scones and cookies are always available but otherwise each Saturday is different.  So if you were to call into our market regularly then your experience will be different each time.  All items available are hand made at home - we don't allow bought in "handmade" items at our markets.  Where applicable all items have been fully CE tested and labelled.

The Facebook page for Lev3l 3 Crafters can be found HERE.

Last week we decided to try something new.  We held a themed market day on Friday (in addition to our usual Saturday market today.)  The theme we chose was Mother, Baby and Pre-School children.  Although the footfall was less than it is on Saturdays we still had a very good day and so we will be repeating this event at regular intervals during the year - so watch this space (or our Facebook page)
